There is a mountain of information on the best way to start.

Most successful marketers follow three basic rules.

Rule 1. They research their market BEFORE they do anything.

Rule 2. They collect as many names and email addresses as possible. And keep in regular touch with them by providing useful information.

Rule 3. They never sell anything for more than it is worth. They make sure that when people buy they get more than they expect. – GIVE VALUE.

A marketing strategy is important and will normally emerge once the research has been completed.

Every day I wade through strategies on product marketing. The truth is that there is enough online marketing promotion material to keep you busy for the next few years.

So what are the main ingredients to a successful website? Well, at the risk of repeating myself, the elements we need are the following:  a product; a website, a means of collecting money and visitors. Now it is easy to say and most people stop before they start because they don’t have a product to sell.

I’ve considered that carefully and I believe that in order to get you started quickly the best thing for me to do is first discuss your options with you and if that doesn’t work for you I’ll give you a product to sell.

Let me explain this to you in more detail. Every new Member should have received an invitation to complete a Survey. Complete it in as much detail as possible and we should then be able to quickly identify which option is available for you.

The first thing to do is to understand how the Internet works and understand the online marketing promotion opportunities available to you. Once that is done we need to get organized.

Clearly you have an email address which may have created with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or you may have a Hotmail or Yahoo email. Most Internet Marketers recommend creating a Google Email address e.g. yourname@gmail.com Click on the link below to learn why and how.

Researching your internet business idea.

The first basic skill you need to do is research. This will help you identify what people are buying on the internet and what terms (keywords) they are entering in their browser. This will help you to use the keywords in your site to greatly increase the chance of people finding your website.

Finding and Hosting your Domain

To find out if a particular Domain is available I strongly recommend Godaddy.com. Click the banner to see if your choice is available right now. Look for a .COM and ignore all other options. If your business is going to be only in one contry for example UK the you can go for .CO.UK but remember this is a Global Industry.

Please DO NOT BUY ANY EXTRAS just the name you want. DON’T Accept the offer of Hosting. I’ll explain why later but this is important.
